Service Description

Have you been throwing pots on the wheel for a while now and are looking to level up? If you’ve figured out the centring secret and can get your walls 3 inches tall, this class is for you! Join us for a little inspiration to drive your studio explorations. Try your hand at using some new techniques to throw bigger, taller and more consistent pots. We will dive deeper into planning your piece, throwing in series, altering your pots, trimming techniques and, my personal mission, how to make great, functioning handles! We will try new clays and tools and use wheel games to get you out of your comfort zone and having fun. Let’s push your throwing skills to the next level! Introducing our NEW Teacher: Jill Ward "My name is Jill. I am a passionate potter of nearly 20 years who loves to teach. My clay journey started with studio classes, moved on to the PPG at the Lier House basement, then to her own basement(where I became obsessed with handles), and then on to a basement studio in Oliver(still with the handles!). Though the humidity of basements is nothing to scoff at where working in clay is concerned, it’s been nothing but above ground since those days and I’m thrilled to be teaching with the community at Donut House Studios"
